At Catboat Cottage we want to make everyone's stay as enjoyable as possible. We're committed to providing suitable access for all our guests, whatever their individual needs. We aim to accurately describe our facilities and services to give you the confidence to book for your specific requirements.

GETTING AROUND INSIDE

Lounge

  • From the main entrance to the lounge, there are 3 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

Self catering kitchen and dining room

​

  • We have a separate kitchen and dining room. From the main entrance to the kitchen, there are 6 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

  • The table and plates have high colour contrast.

  • From the main entrance to the dining room, there are 4 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

​

Washing machine and tumble dryer in the kitchen

  • From the main entrance to the laundry, there are 6 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

  • We have an iron and ironing board. You can use the ironing board sitting down.

​

Bedrooms​

  • All bedrooms have windows.

  • Bedrooms have wall lights, bedside lamps and natural daylight.

  • Lights are halogen, LED and energy saving. Some lights can be controlled independently.

  • TV has subtitles.

  • All bedrooms are non-smoking.

  • We have non-allergic bedding.

  • All bedrooms have fitted carpets.

  • We can move the bedroom furniture, to improve accessibility.

  • No bedrooms have level access. The bedroom nearest the main entrance has 1 step.

Bathrooms

  • We have bathrooms with a separate shower.

  • We have a bathroom with a bath and overhead shower.

​

Hearing

  • The sitting room and bedroom TVs have subtitles.

​

Visual

  • We have information in large print.

​

GETTING AROUND OUTSIDE

 

Main Garden

  • From the main entrance to this area, there are 20 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

Courtyard Patio

  • From the main entrance to this area, there are 7 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

​

Mobility Equipment

  • You can hire mobility equipment from A M Care by calling 01237 479553.

GETTING HERE

 

Travel by public transport

  • You can get to Catboat Cottage by bus and train.

  • The nearest bus stop in on The Quay in Appledore The bus stop is 0.2 miles / 0.3 km from Catboat Cottage.

  • The nearest train station is Barnstaple Station. The train station is 11.5 miles / 18.5 km from Catboat Cottage.

Travel by taxi

  • You can get a taxi with Rayners Taxi by calling 07718 482803. The taxi company has a wheelchair accessible vehicle.

  • You can get a taxi with Number Six by calling Number Six. The taxi company has a wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Parking

  • There is parking near the venue. There are accessible parking spaces. Parking is not free.

  • There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.
