Nearby farm shops, food producers and markets, including the historic covered Pannier Markets in Bideford and Barnstaple, also offer a superb selection.

Our wonderful Farmer's Market is held on the first Saturday of every month.  Stallholders range from fresh fruit and vegetables to delicious home-made cakes and artisan bread.  It's well worth a visit.

Traditional Hockings Ice Cream van parked on the Quay in Appledore North Devon

For desert, sample a locally made Hocking's Ice Cream from the van on The Quay.  Or take a tub back to the cottage for later.  In our humble opinion, it's the best ice cream in the country.

Alternatively, spoil yourself and indulge in some home-made treats from The Appledore Chocolate Shop.
