to Appledore

By car: The easiest and quickest route is via the M5; exit at Junction 27, then take the A361 link road to Barnstaple.
From there, follow the A39 to Bideford until you pick up the A386 for Appledore.
All the roads are well signposted and it’s approximately 45 miles from the motorway to Appledore.

If travelling from Cornwall, the A39 is a direct but very scenic route.

From Plymouth and South Devon, take the A386 or A388, while the A377 is preferable from Exeter or Crediton.
By Rail: North Devon is well served by the UK rail network. Hourly direct routes run from Exeter St David’s to Barnstaple station.
On arrival, you can either take a taxi from outside or cross the old bridge and follow the signs to the bus station for the frequent service to Bideford and Appledore.
